Maria
President/Master Designer III
Our fearless leader! Maria has been loving hair for over 45 years. She started Team Cutters in 1977 to break away from the “shampoo and set” salons and start a salon with a vision of inspiring and teaching generations to come. With her passion to help inspire people, she has been a role model and inspiration to so many stylist and clients over the years. Although Maria is only doing clients a few days a week now, she is still a moving force in the hair industry in Fairbanks as well as the entire state of Alaska. She shares her wisdom of business and hair to many salon owners and stylist, as well as advocating for the apprenticeship program to thrive in Alaska.
Dawn
Educational Director
Dawn is an Educational Director at Team Cutters. Dawn grew up in the salon and has been working in the salon since the age of 12. She acquired her hairdresser's license before graduating high school in 1993. Knowing she has always wanted to teach, she worked for a few manufacturers before finding her fit with Goldwell. Dawn has been an educator with Goldwell for over 18 years, now. As a Team Cutters Educational Director, she has trained many apprentices, assiting them to launch their own careers. Dawn proudly shares her countless hours of extended education with Team Cutters staff and Alaska's community of hairdressers.
Shawnee
Salon Coordinator/Esthetician
Shawnee was raised in the salon, but always knew she didn't have the passion for hair like her mother and sister. Shawnee worked many years on the front desk & office and still continues to do most of the behind the scenes work it takes to keep a business thriving. In 2014, Shawnee got her Esthetician's license and loves having one on one time with her clients giving relaxing facials, body waxing and in 2015 was certified with NovaLash for Lash Extensions. Shawnee enjoys enhancing lashes to look long and full but still natural and clients say they can't live without them, now.
Jessica
Master Designer IV
Jessica started her career as an apprentice at Team Cutters in 2001 and has completed many hours in advanced training though TIGI academy, Goldwell Academy and many more. She has studied all over the country and brings that experience and knowledge to Fairbanks and to Team Cutters. She brings with her almost 20 years of experience.
Stephanie
Master Designer IV
Stephanie studied at Glen Dow Hair Academy in Spokane, WA and has over 15 years of experience. She has been with Team Cutters for over 13 years and continues to grow and expand her knowledge. Stephanie continues to take classes to bring more innovation to Fairbanks. She has a wealth of knowledge in Goldwell, KMS, Deva Curl and is always continuing her professional development. Her philosophy includes, "continuing education because nobody knows it all..." She values a clean, professional environment and giving her clients 100% and seeing them leave with a smile on their face is the best!
Kate
Associate Instructor
Kate has been a wonderful member of our team since 2014, after moving back to Fairbanks from Anchorage. She started at Rae’s Haircutting in 2000, and has continues her craft with many more classes over the year. She attended Vidal Sassoon in London; as well as cutting classes with Alterey Brothers, Redken, DJ Mauldoon, DevaCurl; advanced color classes with top Schwazkof and Goldwell educators. In addition to bridal and special occasion makeup training with Mac Professional Makeup. Kate has fallen in love with Balayage highlights and mastered the technically difficult applications. Her value as a hair designer include, maintaining a professional, friendly, clean atmosphere, and helping clients achieve their cut and color goals with adding my own flare. Kate is also one of our instructors and loves helping our apprentices learning new skills. Look for some of Kates work on Instagram @72Kate.
